High School Youth
Confirmation
Confirmation Year 1: If you have completed the 8th grade then you are eligible to sign up for our Confirmation Year 1 program. These students will meet every Wednesday from 6-7 pm in the Youth House or in the Parish Center. These students are required to complete 20 hours of service work, attend one retreat, and have good attendance (missing no more than three classes).
Confirmation Year 2: If you were in Confirmation Year 1 last year and have completed your 9th-grade year, then you are eligible to sign up for our Confirmation Year 2 program. These students meet every Wednesday from 6-7 pm. Each month they will attend their class that focuses on the Sacrament of Confirmation. These students are required to complete 20 hours of community service, attend two retreats, and have good attendance (missing no more than three classes).
Youth Group
The Youth Group is a new program dedicated to helping students in High School, whether they have received Confirmation or not, encounter Christ in everyday life. The Youth Group Classes will meet from 6-7 pm Wednesday evenings. The Youth Group will not be in the normal lecture format, but it will rather encourage students to ask questions about their faith, offer their time and talents in charitable projects, and grow closer to their peers in Bible Studies and spiritual retreats. These classes are required for 9th and 10th graders who are seeking Confirmation at the end of their 10th grade year, but are offered for all High Schoolers regardless of their age.
How to Register
Attend class to receive a registration form if you missed our parent meeting this year. Those to be Confirmed must also complete the Confirmation form below or receive a hard copy to fill out. Contact Colton Ketter at Cketter@shmbarling.org with questions or concerns.
